Submissions

submissions to issue v: corporeal are open

corporeal is for the aching.

Bodies are the physical vehicle through which we experience the world. Each is different.
Within the many (flawed) categories of illness and recovery exist multitudes of variations of the physical experience. There is something priceless to be found in each one. In language that resonates with you, show us your embodiment.

Some threads we're interested in seeing you explore*:

How do you know your body?

How do you know the world through the sensations experienced by your body?

How do we relate to one another in context of these bodies?

Some prompts: sensory differences; pain perception; ability; dysmorphia; compulsions; dysphoria; influences & connections between the mental and physical; lineage and heritage.

healthline zine exists to explore the infinite threads of illness and recovery through art. This is not limited to direct experiences of illness—we welcome all meditations on these experiences, as long as they are genuine perspectives. We are excited to be a space for those living in illness and recovery, and the children, parents, carers, friends, lovers, and observers of them. The themes of healthline have the potential to be relevant to everybody. Because of this, we're fairly broad in what we'll consider, and interpret submissions trusting them to be relevant.

*do keep in mind that we like being surprised by that which is not prescribed!
